Abstract
Duodopa intestinal gel is a new method for Bulgaria for treating advanced idiopathic Parkinson’s disease with severe motor fluctuations, dyskinesias, and dystonias, when the optimal dose combinations of conventional antiparkinsonean drugs is unsufficient.
A case of a 61-year-old man with idiopathic Parkinson’s disease is presented. The disease progression is 10 years, with occurrence of motor complications – presence of the dose exhaustion effect, “on-off” phenomena with dyskinesia in the on-phase. This is the first patient for Bulgaria treated with Duodopa intestinal gel.
